Frequently Asked Questions

Approach & Principles

What is a bioenergetic functional medicine approach?

It views health through energy balance.

Food provides energy. Lifestyle and movement determine how well that energy is produced and used.

When energy supply matches demand, the body functions more reliably. Our care focuses on restoring and maintaining that balance.

What does “energy drives function” mean?

Every process — digestion, sleep, focus, recovery, and mood — depends on energy.

Steady energy supports normal function. Low or inconsistent energy often leads to symptoms.

Supporting energy balance is the foundation of our work.

Is this functional medicine?

Yes.

We practice a bioenergetic functional medicine approach focused on energy balance, nutrition, and lifestyle to identify and address root causes of metabolic imbalances rather than symptoms alone.

Is this medical care?

No. This program provides education and lifestyle guidance only and does not diagnose or treat medical conditions or replace your physician.

Program Structure

How is this different from one-time visits?

Single visits offer short-term advice.

  • Track patterns over time
  • Adjust plans regularly
  • Respond early
  • Support lasting change

Consistency leads to better long-term results.

Why monthly care?

Health needs change over time. Regular support allows steady adjustments instead of reactive visits.

What happens during sessions?

We review progress, refine nutrition and lifestyle strategies, answer questions, and adjust your plan. Each visit builds on the last.

Is everything personalized?

Yes. Guidance is tailored to your goals, energy capacity, and daily life. There are no fixed protocols.

Memberships

Why memberships instead of single appointments?
  • Continuity
  • Accountability
  • Regular adjustments
  • Easier communication

It’s a care relationship, not a one-time service.

How often do I meet with my practitioner?

Weekly telehealth sessions based on your plan, plus unlimited secure messaging between visits.

Can I change or cancel?

Yes. Memberships are month-to-month and can be adjusted or canceled anytime.

Not sure which plan fits?

Schedule a consultation and we’ll help you decide.

Nutrition

Do I need a strict diet?

No. Nutrition guidance is practical and sustainable. The goal is adequacy and balance — not restriction or perfection.

Do you provide meal plans?

We offer personalized guidance rather than rigid meal plans so your approach stays flexible and realistic.

Movement, Exercise & Weight

Do you prescribe workouts or exercise programs?

No. We guide supportive movement that matches your energy and recovery capacity. The goal is to build energy — not deplete it.

What do you mean by “movement”?

Any physical activity that supports circulation, recovery, and metabolic function.

  • Aerobic activity (steady, lower intensity)
  • Anaerobic activity (short, higher intensity)
What’s the difference between aerobic and anaerobic activity?

Aerobic: Uses oxygen for energy. Longer duration, lower–moderate intensity. Examples: walking, cycling, swimming. Can increase stress if excessive.

Anaerobic: Uses stored glycogen. Short bursts, higher intensity. Examples: strength training, resistance work, intervals. Often supports muscle mass and metabolic capacity.

Both are useful. The key is appropriate dose and recovery.

How do you decide what’s appropriate for me?

We assess energy availability, recovery, sleep, stress, and daily demands. Movement is selected to support metabolic function — not outpace it — and adjusted gradually based on your response.

Can this program help with weight management?

Yes.

We address nutrition and metabolic health first, since weight regulation depends on energy balance — not exercise alone. By supporting the body’s energy systems, weight changes tend
